BSB80120 – Graduate Diploma of Management (Learning)

Qualification Description

This qualification reflects the role of individuals who apply highly specialised knowledge and skills in the field of organisational learning and capability development. Individuals in these roles generate and evaluate complex ideas. They also initiate, design and execute major learning and development functions within an organisation. Typically, they would have full responsibility and accountability for the personal output and work of others.

This qualification may apply to leaders and managers in an organisation where learning is used to build organisational capability. The job roles that relate to this qualification may also include RTO Manager and RTO Director.

Packaging Rules

To achieve this qualification, competency must be demonstrated in:

8 units of competency:

  • 3 core units
  • 5 elective units.

3 elective units must be selected from the elective units listed on National Training Register – BSB80120 Graduate Diploma of Management (Learning)

for the remaining 2 elective units:

  • up to 2 units may be selected from the elective units listed on National Training Register – BSB80120 Graduate Diploma of Management (Learning)
  • if not listed, up to 2 units may be selected from an Advanced Diploma, Graduate Certificate or Graduate Diploma from this or any other currently endorsed Training Package qualification or accredited course.

Elective units must be relevant to the work environment and the qualification, maintain the integrity of the AQF alignment and contribute to a valid, industry-supported vocational outcome.

Entry Requirements

To enrol, applicants must meet AIMT admission requirements, including:

  • Be 18 years of age or older
  • Successfully complete Year 12 or an equivalent qualification
  • Meet AIMT English language requirements
  • Successfully complete the Language, Literacy, Numeracy and Digital (LLND) assessment where required

Although the training package has no mandatory entry requirements, AIMT applies additional admission requirements to ensure students are prepared to study at AQF Level 8.

English Language Requirements

International students must satisfy AIMT’s English language requirements.

Accepted English language evidence includes:

  • IELTS Academic or General Training
  • PTE Academic
  • TOEFL iBT
  • C1 Advanced (Cambridge)
  • OET
  • CELPIP General
  • LANGUAGECERT Academic
  • Michigan English Test (MET)

Equivalent English evidence may also be accepted in accordance with Australian student visa requirements.

Further Study Pathways

After successful completion, students may progress to:

  • Relevant Master’s degree programs in Business
  • Master’s programs in Management
  • Human Resource Management
  • Organisational Development
  • Education and Leadership qualifications offered by universities or other higher education providers
