Qualification Description

This qualification reflects the role of individuals who apply knowledge, practical skills, and experience in leadership and management across a range of enterprise and industry contexts.

Individuals at this level display initiative and judgment in planning, organizing, implementing, and monitoring their workload and the workload of others. They use communication skills to support individuals and teams to meet organizational or enterprise requirements.

They may plan, design, apply, and evaluate solutions to unpredictable problems, and identify, analyze, and synthesize information from a variety of sources.

Job roles and titles vary across different industry sectors. Possible job titles relevant to this qualification are Manager, Corporate Services Manager, Office Manager, Operations Manager, Warehouse Manager, Business Development Manager, Production Manager, and Business Manager.

Packaging Rules

To be awarded this qualification, BSB60420 Advanced Diploma of Leadership and Management, students must attain competency in 10 units which includes

  • 5 core units of competency; and
  • 5 elective units of competency; which
  • 3 elective units must be selected from the elective units listed below

for the remaining 2 elective units:

  • up to 2 units may be selected from the elective units listed in the training package
  • if not listed, up to 2 units may be selected from a Certificate IV or above, from this or any other currently endorsed Training Package qualification or accredited course.

AIMT has selected the elective units through consultation with industry experts to ensure learners acquire relevant knowledge and skills and the work outcome as required by the industry.

Course Duration

This course is delivered full-time over a total of 52 weeks.

English Language Requirements

International students applying for this course, either offshore or onshore, are required to meet one of the following English language requirements:

  • Minimum IELTS (General) overall band score of 6.0 for direct entry into a VET course.
  • IELTS (General) overall band score of 6.0 with an ELICOS course (up to 10 weeks) to be completed before commencing the main VET course.
  • IELTS (General) overall band score of 6.0 with an ELICOS course (up to 20 weeks) to be completed before commencing the main VET course.
  • Pearson Test of English (PTE Academic): Minimum score of 50.
  • Cambridge English: Advanced (CAE) from Cambridge ESOL: Minimum score of 162.
  • TOEFL Internet-Based Test (iBT): Minimum score of 46.

Note: IELTS equivalent tests include PTE and TOEFL. Test results older than two years are not acceptable.

OR

Provide evidence that you have studied in English for at least five years in one of the following countries:

  • Australia
  • Canada
  • New Zealand
  • Republic of Ireland
  • South Africa
  • United Kingdom
  • United States

Provide evidence that, within two years of the application date, you have successfully completed in Australia:

  • A Foundation Course, or
  • A Senior Secondary Certificate of Education.

For onshore international students, where IELTS or equivalent English language test results have expired, students will be be required to meet the English language requirements by undertaking AIMT’s Internal Cambridge English Test.

Provide evidence of:

  • A Certificate IV or higher qualification completed in Australia, or
  • Tertiary studies completed in the English medium of instruction.
